Misnomers in the Torah: Confusing free and right to choose

In this video, we examine a crucial misnomer regarding the concept of free choice. Many people believe that because we have the freedom to choose, we have the right to choose anything, including whether or not to follow Jewish law. This is a profound misunderstanding. While we certainly have the technical ability to make our own decisions, that does not mean those choices are without weight. The true consequence of ignoring the Mitzvot is not necessarily a sudden divine punishment, but rather the internal damage we do to ourselves and our souls. Every choice we make shapes the person we become. When we use our freedom to make decisions that go against Halacha, we distort our potential and distance ourselves from our true purpose. Join me as we discuss why the gift of free choice is not a license for any behavior, but a sacred responsibility to become the best versions of ourselves.
